The Annual Ethnik Festival of Arts and Culture stands as the signature event of the Ethnik Festivals Association, dedicated to celebrating Black History (Excellence) each February. This all-encompassing festival serves as a key gathering point for the Afro-Canadian and Caribbean communities, celebrating diversity and inclusivity while showcasing their vibrant cultural heritage to audiences across Canada. Our mission is to inspire leadership and empower younger generations to embrace and express their authentic identities through the rich tapestry of Afro-Canadian and global art traditions.

The Ethnik Festival of Art & Culture is a dynamic platform where art, history, and culture come together to celebrate Black heritage and the contributions of the Black diaspora to Canadian society. Expect an immersive experience that highlights local and international artists, performers, and thought leaders who bring the essence of Black culture to life. Day 1, Festival 1: Valentine-Themed Calgary Food War – Battle of the Couples

One of the festival’s signature events, the Calgary Food War, returns in 2025 with a romantic twist! This year’s competition will be Valentine-themed, where couples will compete head-to-head, showcasing their culinary talents and creativity. Get ready for an unforgettable food competition that blends love, culture, and flavor. The Calgary Food War has always been a crowd favorite, and with this new format, it’s set to be even more exciting! Additionally, local artists will grace the stage, captivating the audience with their performances.

Also, welcome to the New/Emerging Artists’ Showcase! This event serves as a platform for 20 local new and emerging artists to present their work to EFAC audiences and fellow artists. at the same venue Our Emerging Artists category encompasses individuals who are new to Calgary and/or are embarking on their artistic careers in the city.

The Black Gold Evening After Party is the grand finale of the Ethnik Festival of Arts and Culture 2025, offering an exclusive and unforgettable experience for our distinguished guests.
